ISSUES - RECIRCULATION |
go back |
|
|
In order to prevent degradation of the
fuel cell anode electrode, it is imperative that a flow rate of
hydrogen greater than the minimum (stoichiometric) value required be
supplied to the fuel cell stack. This necessity results in excess
hydrogen fuel at the exit of the stack, which must be utilized in
light of efficiency and safety considerations. |
|
|
The preferred solution to the problem
presented by supply of excess fuel is to recirculate unused fuel back
to the inlet of the fuel cell stack. This can only be accomplished by
some type of pumping device and recirculation line from the exit to
the inlet of the stack. |

H2Systems provides for recirculation at
the core of its HDRS concept. Our patent-pending Hydrogen
Recirculation Blower (HRB) and Hydrogen Recirculation Ejector (HRE)
designs provide recirculation essential for the PEM fuel cell
application. |
