ISSUES - HUMIDIFICATION |
go back |
|
|
Proper humidification of the PEM fuel
cell stack is a critical factor in the efficiency and durability of
the device. Too little humidification can result in drying of the cell
membrane, possibly leading to permanent damage. Too much (or
ineffective) humidification can result in liquid water formation
within the stack, also creating the possibility of permanent damage. |
|
|
H2Systems provides for humidification in its HDRS concept
by delivering a majority of the humidification required through the
recirculation of the typically saturated hydrogen-water mixture
present at the stack exit. In this way, the need for bulky and
inefficient humidifiers as part of the anode sub-system is greatly
reduced. |
